Gimme One Good Reason
So here’s what I’ve gotten finished in the last few days. I have several other pieces I am working on for very lovely people which I will hopefully get done (or near done) this week. At least enough to get some more pictures up.
Mermaid — Water colour by Warwickk Goble (who rocks my socks)
I think the pearls are called “peacock”… I don’t know. They’re freshwater pearls dyed to a particular colour that I think it kinda pretty. Also, there’s a lot of swarovski crystal in this. Mmm…. crystals. Basically, I wanted it to look a bit like a sunken treasure chest with all the pealrs and jewels just sorta hanging out. Yeah. I think I achieved my goal on this.
Absinthe — advertisement by somebody (who also rocks my socks)
This is very different from anything else I’ve done before, mostly because I didn’t bead the entire thing. Jackie wanted understated, and understated I think is what she got. I’m rather pleased with it. If I’d had more time and money, I would have used real amber, but the glass is a pretty colour anyway and looks right.
I’m gonna show you why they call me Lightning
Somehow last night, I stumbled on several vintage absinthe ads.
As I understand it, good absinthe tastes something like liquorice, which I hate, so I probably would not like it ever.
On the other hand, I love the ads for it.
I heart the ads for it.
I heart the colours.
I heart the red heads.
Then I found these turn of the century watercolours while searching for etchings of my favorite fairy tale characters.
I heart fairy tales.
Have I ever mentioned that I also heart mermaids?
I heart mermaids.
So here, for your enjoyment and/or criticism, are some hazy photos of pendants which will eventually be part of necklaces.
